The Big Bad Wolf is Dead, but the War Still Rages

Yesterday, Osama bin Laden was killed and justice was served.  For that, I was grateful - a fugitive from justice over the mass murder of so many Americans finally delivered his just desert.

Our televised reaction to it, however, alarmed me; yet I was afraid initially to say it.   I expressed to my husband that while we are of course rejoicing that the big bad wolf is dead, we should not be "partying in the streets," and that is what it appeared to me the young crowd was doing in front of the White House and every single channel we turned to covered it as such!  Revelation 11:10 immediately came to my mind and I realized, "oh my God, this is what it will be like when the two witnesses who the world will so hate are killed."  And, all the world will see it.

I beseech that we Americans humble ourselves and get down on our knees, repent and pray.  Rejoice in the Lord and pray that He lifts us up.

I quote below a few stanzas of America the Beautiful.

America! America!
God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!
America! America!
God mend thine ev'ry flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law.
O beautiful for heroes prov'd
In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved,
And mercy more than life.
O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears.
